This sweet and tangy keto BBQ sauce tastes just like the real deal. The base is my keto ketchup recipe, along with spices, vinegar, and the best sugar free brown sugar. This BBQ sauce will keep in the fridge for 3 days and the flavor is fantastic.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar free ketchup
  • 4.5 tablespoons Sukrin gold brown sugar substitute or monk fruit sweetener

  • 1 tablespoon tamari soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon each onion powder, garlic powder, ancho chile powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1 ounce bourbon, optional

Instructions

  1. Make the BBQ sauce by adding all the ingredients to a medium size pot and bring to a low simmer. Cook for 45 minutes, stirring often. Check for seasoning, you may need more brown sugar substitute. To make the sauce extra smooth, blend or use a hand blender for 30 seconds. Sauce will keep in the fridge for 3 weeks and tastes even better the next day. Recipe makes 12 ounces of BBQ sauce.
