To the same pan, add the peppers, onions, ¼ teaspoon salt, and a few cracks of pepper. Cook for 5 minutes then add the garlic and cook another 3 minutes. Add meat back to the pan along with the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute. Add the ketchup, water, coconut sugar, mustard, chili powder, tamari, and mix well. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 15 minutes, adding more water if the mixture gets too thick to quickly. Check for seasoning and remove from heat once the time is up and the mixture has thickened.
