Using two large spoons, form the batter into small football like shapes and carefully place in the oil, 4-6 at a time as to not over crowd the pot. Fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown on one side, flip and repeat. Total cooking time should be about 5 minutes. You can always take one fritter out and cut through it to make sure it’s cooked through. When ready to serve, sprinkle some powdered sugar over the top along with some lemon zest and enjoy.
